It's alive!

A fter many weeks of waiting and lots of pleading phone calls, our “high-speed” internet is working. Thanks to an inside contact at the phone company our line card was replaced today and our DSL came alive. Evidently TSTT (the monopoly DSL provider) is experiencing massive problems with line cards. According to my friend all DSL installs have been put on hold. Only because of his perseverance were we able to get a “spare” line card.
The jump from 56 kbps to 256 kbps is huge, but still hardly seems to qualify as “high-speed”, especially when we consider how much “high-speed” access costs. Nonetheless we are thankful for the wonders of modern technology.
Our Vonage phone service is working again and I’ll be posting more regularly. Also watch for new pictures in the Gallery.
