Singing about the Resurrection?

“It is a remarkable fact that there are many monographs on the theology of the death of Christ, but very few, by comparison, on the theology of his resurrection.”

—I. Howard Marshall, Aspects of the Atonement: Cross and Resurrection in the Reconciling of God and Humanity

I wonder if this is true about songs about the resurrection as well. A cursory search of the CCLI database would suggest that it is. Maybe that’s because there are more words that rhyme with cross than with resurrection? Just wondering.

I didn’t know you had a blog, and since ’99! I’ll have to browse your posts, looks thought provoking.

  2. You’ll notice that it doesn’t get much attention. It’s mainly just an archive of ministry update letters. Hope you find some profit, Suzanne.
